The testimony before the January 6 select committee on Donald Trump's attempted coup d'etat has been shattering. Only a few honest officials stood between the President and his push to get approval of alternate (that is, fake) slates of electors in key sates. But could it conceivably have been worse?
Alan, a very chilling thought to think Pence could have actually been hung. Why would not his secret service protectors not started shooting the ones who who going to hang him? And frankly, it seems that even the crowd might baulk at actually following through with a hanging, although I know crowds go mad. I guess the crowd could have overrun the secret service and they could have killed him. But it would have been a bloody mess all on tv. Very hard to actually envision.
